Sherzod advises and represents companies on brand and technology protection across a range of sectors, including matters involving international rights holders and technology businesses.
Represented a globally recognised apparel brand in a series of court and administrative proceedings against manufacturers and distributors of counterfeit products in Uzbekistan. The matter involved the development of a comprehensive enforcement strategy — from identifying distribution chains to securing the seizure and destruction of counterfeit goods.
Advised a global household cleaning products manufacturer on identifying production facilities and distribution channels involved in the sale of counterfeit goods marketed under the client’s trademark. The engagement included the design of a market monitoring methodology and a regulatory engagement framework to support swift and effective enforcement action.
Advised a Singapore-based diversified conglomerate with annual turnover of USD 6.5 billion on its entry into Uzbekistan. The project included an assessment of the regulatory environment, the development of a trademark registration and protection strategy, and legal risk analysis in light of local enforcement practice.
Represented several European pharmaceutical companies in matters involving the unauthorised sale of medicinal products not intended for the Uzbekistan market. The engagement included the development of a legal position at the intersection of customs, pharmaceutical, and intellectual property law, as well as engagement with regulators to stop the unlawful circulation of goods.
Represented a leading Korean automotive manufacturer in matters involving the large-scale import and sale of counterfeit auto parts in Uzbekistan.
Represented a European manufacturer of gas equipment in matters involving the import and sale of counterfeit automotive components under the client’s brand in Uzbekistan.
Advised a major Chinese automotive group on the licensing of intellectual property rights in Uzbekistan. The engagement included structuring licence agreements, analysing local law requirements, and developing mechanisms to monitor compliance with licence terms.
